Using our Website

On this website you will find blog posts, podcasts, articles, guides and instructions, hints and tips and information on health/wellbeing. This information is provided solely for your education, entertainment, and personal development as you learn more about living the good life in harmony with the planet.

Please be aware that the generalised information that we provide is not a substitute for specialist advice tailored to your individual circumstances. We may modify the information provided on this website at any time, including by altering or deleting it without notice.

If you choose to follow any suggestions found in our blog posts or podcasts, you need to take full responsibility for your own safety and well-being. This includes being careful when using power tools and gardening tools, or in cooking and food preparation, as well as conducting your own research and making informed decisions before taking inspiration from another person’s story. If you are not familiar with any suggested technique recommended on this site, please make independent inquiries, take it slow and make sure that you feel competent in your use of these methods before you apply them to your own situation. What sounds easy when you read it can be difficult to put into practice, and while we encourage you to expand your horizons and try new things, it is very important that you only do so with common sense and care. We recommend you seek professional advice, instruction or assistance as required to ensure your own safety and that of those around you.

Downloads

We take every care to ensure that any downloads we make available for you are harmless. However, the internet can be a wild place and we are not responsible for attacks that occur without our knowledge or consent. Please ensure that you have up-to-date reliable internet security, as we cannot be held responsible for any viruses or any other damage which might occur to your systems as a result of downloading material from our site.

External Links

We love to share useful and educational resources with you, but we have no control over the content on the sites that we link to. While we make every effort to ensure that external links are relevant and safe at the time of posting, we are not responsible for the content of those external sites or any changes that may occur there over time. Nor can Pip Magazine guarantee the accuracy of information found at any linked site. Links to or from external sites not owned or controlled by Pip Magazine do not constitute an endorsement of the products or information that you might find there.

Third Party Advertisements

To support keeping Pip Magazine affordable, we allow 3rd party advertisements to be displayed on our site and in our magazine. We also accept 3rd party advertisements for the Classifieds page of our site. Although we make very effort to only partner with reputable and ethical businesses, we are not responsible for the content of any advertisements that may be displayed and we have no part in or responsibility for any transaction entered into between the visitor and the advertiser. Any interaction on our site between you, and anybody else who may post content or offers on our site is at your own risk.

Our magazine is created using vegetable inks and recycled and FSC paper.

Contributors to Pip Magazine are sharing their own perspectives, based on their personal and professional experiences. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the accuracy or reliability of any opinion, advice or statement they may make.

Under no circumstances will Pip Magazine be liable for any loss or damage caused by your reliance on information obtained through either the content published through the Pip Magazine website, magazine or podcast, and/or any postings on the community areas. It is your responsibility to evaluate the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any content you might access on or through our site. Please seek the advice of professionals, as appropriate, before making decisions or taking actions that could affect your financial, mental or physical well-being.

In our shop, we endeavour to offer quality products that we believe in, but we do not manufacture these products ourselves. As with the purchase of any product or service through any medium or in any environment, you should use your best judgement and exercise caution where appropriate. Our refund policy is set out later in this document. We reserve the right to withdraw any product from sale and correct any mistake – including as to description or price – at any time. If you have purchased a product that was subject to a mistake of this kind, we reserve the right to refund your money and correct the error.

Pip Magazine, our podcast, blog and the community areas are provided on an “As Is”, “As Available” basis. While we do our best to provide accurate information, what you do with that information is entirely your responsibility. You accept that we are not liable for protecting you from injury, loss or damage, even if you are following directions, principals or techniques that we have shared. You are responsible for your own health, safety and well-being, so please, conduct your own research, seek professional advice and make informed decisions before taking action. If something we recommend causes you concern, or results in unexpected consequences, it is your responsibility to seek immediate professional assistance. You are responsible for providing your own safe environment at all times, and especially when trying out new ideas.

Everybody’s situation is different, and what works for one person in one environment may not work for you. When we provide suggestions, or stories about other people experiencing success, we are not promising that you will achieve the same results. There are too many factors and variables outside our control. When you follow any of our guides, suggestions or recommendations, you are embarking on an adventure of exploration, trial and error, and experimentation. Please ensure that you have sufficient knowledge and understanding to make an informed decision about whether particular action is right for you. Any activity you choose to engage in is undertaken voluntarily, and entirely at your own risk.

We enjoy and encourage discussion across a wide cross-section of the community. Unfortunately, sometimes people may be rude or negative, or extreme in their viewpoints. We do not endorse any defamatory, offensive or illegal comments or conduct. Please see our Visitor Information section later in these terms to find out how you can help us keep this space peaceful and friendly.

From time to time we may offer information about financial well-being, including topics such as ethical superannuation. Pip Magazine is not a registered broker-dealer or investment advisor, and none of the information we share should be construed as financial or investment advice. Our provision of this information is simply to increase your awareness of alternative options and give you a starting point for your own research. Please take your financial safety as carefully as you do your physical safety, and consult with your financial adviser and appropriately qualified professionals before making any final decisions.

For your safety

If this does not describe you, or you suffer from a known or suspected medical condition, please consult your medical support team before undertaking any activity or making any change that could harm you or increase your risk of harm.

We aim to inform and educate people who care about the earth and its inhabitants, reducing human environmental impact and making positive change into the future. We also seek to expand the thinking and ideation of a wider audience regarding care for the earth and its inhabitants. Some of our gardening advice may not suit people who are weak or infirm. We know how easy it is to get excited about new projects – and we share some pretty awesome ideas – but we care about you and want you to stay safe, so please, always put your own safety first and take full responsibility for your own wellbeing.

All of the information that we share with you, including information about financial topics, is general in nature and does not take into account your personal situation. It is never a substitute for proper, professional advice. You should always consider whether information that we share with you is appropriate to your situation and seek advice from an appropriately qualified adviser who understands your specific needs and circumstances.

Jurisdiction & Dispute Resolution

JURISDICTION

Pip Magazine is located in NSW. This agreement is subject to the governing law of NSW.

NEGOTIATION

If you have any issue or complaint arising out of your use of this website or these terms and conditions, you and Pip Magazine Australia agree to make a genuine effort to resolve the dispute through negotiation and discussion.

MEDIATION

If we are unable to resolve a dispute by negotiation and discussion within 14 days, the parties must proceed to mediation with the assistance of an accredited mediator who is independent of the parties. The mediator is to be appointed by agreement of the parties or, failing agreement within twenty-one (21) days of the first notification of the dispute, by a person appointed by the Chair of Resolution Institute, (ACN 008 651 232, Level 2, 13-15 Bridge Street, Sydney NSW 2000; telephone: 02 9251 3366, email: infoaus@resolution.institute) or the Chair’s designated representative. The Resolution Institute Mediation Rules shall apply to the mediation. We agree to share the costs of mediation equally between us.

LITIGATION

It is a condition precedent to the right of either party to commence litigation other than for interlocutory relief that it has first offered to submit the dispute to mediation. Litigation is to be considered a last resort and may not be commenced until, in the opinion of the independent mediator, the potential for negotiation and mediation have been exhausted. This means that we will do our best to work out any problems between us, with the help of a mediator if necessary, and we won’t go to court unless the mediator tells us we need a judge to make the decision for us because we can’t resolve the issues ourselves.
